Pottawatomie County is seeking public input on issues related to the U.S. Highway 24 Corridor from Manhattan to Wamego through an online survey available online.
Since the corridor is experiencing rapid development, area agencies have partnered to develop a coordinated plan for the corridor's future infrastructure needs. The study effort is led by Pottawatomie County, and co-sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation and the cities of Manhattan, St. George and Wamego.
The study will result in a Corridor Management Plan and associated policies for the highway's traffic operations and adjacent land use. The intent of the Corridor Plan and associated policies for the highway's traffic operations and development; and to keep US-24 and its associated transportation system operating safely and smoothly.
Public input is needed to help the study team identify information on existing conditions within the study area and any issues or concerns related to transportation, traffic, land use and development. Additional public input opportunities are planned over the next 12 months.
The survey will be available through Thursday, July 31, 2008. Residents withing the study area will be invited to participate through a postcard notice.
