TEMPE, Ariz. (WIBW)-- A Kansas teen is dead after falling from a 10th floor balcony in Arizona.

Temp, Arizona Police confirm that the victim has been identified as 18 year old Naomi McClendon of Manhattan.

McClendon was transported to an Arizona hospital early Sunday after falling from the 10th floor balcony of a Tempe residential building. She later died from her injuries.

KMAN radio in Manhattan reports McClendon went into an apartment on the 10th floor by herself and went out to the balcony where she got too close to the edge, lost her balance and fell over.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor and they do not expect foul play.

According to Naomi's Facebook page, she was a student at Arizona State University and graduated from Manhattan High School in 2013.

KMAN reports that USD 383 Director of Communications Michele Jones confirmed Naomi was the daughter of Nate McClendon who is the Director of Orchestras at Manhattan High School and Judy McClendon, a teacher in the Language Art Department at Manhattan High School.
