WASHINGTON, DC.- Senate majority leader Harry Reid has had the Koch brothers in his sights for months now.

"Senate Republicans, madam president, are addicted to Koch", Reid said.

Reid took to the Senate floor again on Tuesday, for a string of attacks against the two conservative billionaires and their advocacy group, Americans For Prosperity.

Reid accused the Koch's of using their money and influence to tip the balance of power in the senate.

"Senate republicans hardly need the NRSC anymore, which decade after decade was their main funding tool for the Republican Senate. Not any longer. The Koch brothers take care of that."

Charles Koch didn't respond on Tuesday, but last week, he spoke out after Reid called the brothers, "unamerican".

in an exclusive interview with the Wichita Business Journal, Koch said, "when you start attacking cronyism and people's political interests, it gets nasty. we've been called every name under the sun."

After Reid's tuesday attack, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell fought back as well on the Senate floor, in effect, calling Reid a hypocrite.

He pointed out that Reid didn't mention Tom Steyer, a wealthy Democrat who's also poured billions into campaigns and causes.

"The truth of the matter is, there are many wealthy Americans who feel deeply about the country, who feel committed to one side or the other, who are trying to have an impact on the country", McConnell said.

Clearly, in an election year, this is a political fight that won't be ending anytime soon.

David Koch is listed as number 88.
