Mike Hazelton says he found out Tuesday that it was his mother's body found in a Topeka neighborhood.

On March 7 a passerby saw a body in the area of Paramore and Grantville.

Today the Shawnee County Coroner confirmed to family members the body was in fact Hazelton's mother.

57-year old Linda Hazelton went missing from Brighton Place Nursing Home and Mental Health Facility at 1301 Northeast Jefferson on June 14, 2005.

She was at the voluntary care facility for depression and other mental related illnesses.

Mike Hazelton says he doesn't know why his mother walked away from Brighton Place but he thinks workers should have kept better track of her.

The services will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Veteran’s Family Section, 4700 SW 17th Street in Topeka. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to assist the family with Linda’s burial may send contributions to the “Linda Hazelton Funeral Fund”, c/o Capital City Bank, 3710 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66609.
