Man Arrested After Overnight Robbery

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW-TV)-- A Topeka man is behind bars after police say he robbed a person outside a bank in Downtown Topeka.

Officers responded to a reported robbery of a person at the US Bank at 434 Southwest Jackson around 12:40 a.m. Monday morning.

As officers approached the scene, they spotted a man matching the description of the robber running away from the area.

Officers apprehended Darren Janssen, 44, in connection with the robbery.

Janssen was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on several charges including aggravated robbery, assault and theft.
