Topeka, KS (WIBW) - "I expect a verdict today, even if it's at 4:55PM," Charlie Henn with KU's legal team said Thursday afternoon.
After nearly eight hours of deliberations the jury was adjourned without a verdict. Deliberations will not be held Friday due to a family reunion of one of the jurors. Deliberations will continue on Monday at 8:30AM.
The jury has heard evidence from both legal teams and it is their job to decide whether a Lawrence store's shirts violate the University of Kansas trademark.
Closing arguments concluded Wednesday in KU's Federal lawsuit against joecollege.com's owner Larry Sinks.
KU says they are protecting their right to license and manage their image. Sinks says KU is attacking his first amendment right and his right to use the state's name.
