Saturday Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Person In Hospital

An overnight shooting has left one person in the hospital.

The Topeka Police Department says around 2:30 Saturday morning,
officers responded to Washburn North Apartments at 1514 SW 17th to investigate a report of a shooting. Officers located a Topeka man in his 20’s suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his arm. He was transported by AMR to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation and are currently conducting interviews and collecting evidence. No further information is available at this time.

A man that goes by "BostonShawn" said on Twitter that residents heard 6-12 gunshots before police arrived and that they saw 13 police cars, 2 fire trucks and an ambulance at around 3 a.m.
