Melvern Man Killed In Osage County Wreck

OSAGE CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Highway Patrol confirms at least one person was killed in an accident in Osage County Tuesday evening.

KHP says it happened just before 5 pm Tuesday at 269th and Auburn Road, just south of Osage City. They told 13 News that vehicle driven by 37-year-old Eric Stinebaugh of Melvern was eastbound on 269th when it hit a patch of ice, slid off the road and hit a tree.

Stinebaugh was killed. Four other people were in the car. KHP says one of them was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials remained on the scene until around 9 pm Tuesday.
