It's countdown to game time at Kemper Arena, and Danni Boatwright has her game face on. But beneath the calm exterior, a confession.

"I'm a nervous wreck," laughs the Tonganoxie native who became an overnight sensation by winning Survivor: Guatemala.

Sunday was Danni's television debut as sideline reporter on the local broadcast of the Kansas City Brigade arena football team. She has two road games under her belt reporting for radio. It's a switch for Danni. She says she never has done anything like this before, so she admits her first game in Dallas was rough, but "hopefully it'll smooth out."

Danni's on-the-job training involves a few hazards. She says she almost got hit in the head by a football that sailed out of bounds. She's also learning there is a lot of running. A typical game for her involves seeking out everyone from coaches to fans. Sunday, she even paid a visit to baseball player Albert Pujols, watching the game from one of the boxes.

For her, this job is a dream come true. Danni says since she was a little girl she's always wanted to work in sports and be part of the action, so sideline reporting is a perfect fit.

Danni knows Survivor has given her this opportunity, but she also knows it may have some people counting her out of the game entirely. That's why she's determined to work hard. She says she watches tape and reads up on each game. She says she has a lot of drive and ambition, and isn't bothered by what people might say. She says she's doing what she loves and is happy.

The Jayhawk fan says college basketball sideline reporting would her dream job. Her personal life is also moving ahead. In addition to being near her family, she's also dating Chiefs player Casey Wiegmann.
