More challenges for firefighters in central Kansas.
Not only has a wildfire re-kindled southeast of Hutchinson in Harvey County, but another one has broken out in northeast Reno County.
The second fire is on range land, west of the small community of Medora.
A county dispatcher says 15 to 20 fire units have been sent to the blaze.
The other blaze, near Burrton, flared up again Friday morning, sending a plume of smoke that could be seen 30 miles away. Firefighters say the flames are being fanned by 20-mile-per-hour winds, with gusts of 35 mph forecast for later.
The smoke plume is so large it's showing up on weather radar.
Firefighters are looking for the cause.
Harvey County has been under a burn ban for the past four weeks.
