Services Set For 2 Year-Old Drowning Victim

SILVER LAKE, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Dept. has released the name of a 2 year-old boy who drowned over the weekend.

Elyjah Lee was found floating in a swimming pool at his home in the 5900 block of NW 17th Street around 7:00 p.m. Saturday night.

The toddler was not breathing when he pulled from the water. Family members gave him CPR until first responders could get there and take over. He was taken to a Topeka hospital where he later died.

The Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the incident as an accidental drowning

The Silver Lake Fire Dept., AMR, and Shawnee Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies all responded to the scene.

Funeral services Elyjah will be held this Friday at 11 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel's Parker Price Chapel.

The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been setup at the Topeka Post Office Credit Union 400 S. Kansas Avenue, Ste B, Topeka KS 66603.
