Wichita Police ID Victims Of Double Homicide

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- Police have identified three people who were shot outside a southwest Wichita apartment complex last night. Two of those victims died.

Officers were called to the report of a shooting around 10:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of Wildwood Street, near 29th and South Meridian. Police said the shooting happened in the middle of the street.

Three people were shot, two of whom died. Those killed have been identified as 24-year-old Cayli Phillips and 50-year-old Eddie Centeno-Martinez. The third shooting victim, a 38-year-old man, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police say he's the cousin of Centeno-Martinez.

A short time later, a 27-year-old man showed up at a local hospital suffering from a stab wound. Police believe he may be the suspect in the shooting. He's hospitalized under guard in critical condition.

Officers have not released other information about the incident, but say they are not looking for additional suspects.
