2 Dead In Helicopter Crash Near Seattle's Space Needle

A helicopter has crashed near the Space Needle in Seattle, and firefighters and police are responding, the Seattle Police Department said Tuesday morning.

SEATTLE, Wash. (CNN) -- A helicopter crashed Tuesday morning near the Space Needle in Seattle, killing two people and critically injuring another, the Seattle Fire Department said in a tweet.

Firefighters and police were responding, and the street contained at least two damaged cars.

The crash appeared to be on Broad Street, near the city landmark, police said.
