Highway 40 and Dupont road in Tecumseh was the site of a drivers license checklane conducted by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

During the checklane, all traffic going west bound was stopped on Highway 40 requiring drivers to display their license.

One check of a Tecumseh driver showed his license was suspended for driving under the influence. He was then handcuffed and taken to jail.
