2008 Armed Forces Day at Heartland Park Save Email Print

A custom car show is the first event on the day's agenda. Displays from the U.S. armed forces as well as civil services such as the Kansas National Guard and the Marines among others will be at the show.

The Kansas Army National Guard Black Hawk Helicopter will do a special flyover. Admission to the event is free. Visitors can enjoy two rock and roll bands from the 35th Infantry Division Band. A USO show will begin at 6:00 with a concert at 8.

The event will conclude with a fireworks display at 9:15.

In addition to the armed forces, the Topeka Police Department, Topeka Fire Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Topeka EMT are all expected to participate.
