OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Overland Park police identify the two women killed when the car they were in struck a light pole at a high rate of speed and caught fire.

Police said 29-year-old Meghan Lampo of Overland Park and 22-year-old Ashden Kranker of Kansas City died in the crash at 10:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police are investigating a witness account that a second vehicle was involved, and are trying to establish whether the women were racing or involved in a road rage incident.

Officers said witnesses told them the women were traveling at a high rate of speed when their car left the road and struck a metal light pole in the median.

The second vehicle also was traveling at a high rate of speed. Witnesses were unable to describe the driver or the car, which fled the scene.
