Shawnee Heights elementary school coach Randy Schuler had the right key to open the door of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler, and he was the winner of the Briggs Auto "Coach of the Year" competition. Nominees were submitted to all the Briggs Dealerships and five finalists were selected. They were treated to a Coach's Cookout with Frank Martin featuring Polynesian Food.
The five finalists were
Robert Gonzales - Manhattan High Wrestling Coach
Mark Oberkrom - Rock Creek Strength Coach
Harold Oliver - Riley County Girls Basketball Coach
Ted Schuler - Hayden Boys Coach
Randy Schuler - Shawnee Heights elementary school coach
