The Border Patrol visited the Holiday Inn in Manhattan Wednesday looking for qualified applicants who are willing to relocate. The Border Patrol offers $36-46,000.00 for Border Patrol recruits in their first year. They also offer retirement benefits and potential for overtime.
The Border Patrol says they consider the military a fertile source for applicants considering that veterans currently make up 25 percent of their workforce.
Several of those who showed up to the session were soldiers, many coming from Ft. Riley. Joseph Danley said he is considering a career with the Border Patrol before he signs for more time with the military.
Recruiters will be at Sunday's K-State baseball game at 2:00. For more information you can call 1-800-277-9527.
