Two students have been suspended from Royal Valley Middle School for making written threats in a story and several poems. The two said they would like it if three other students were to die.

The parents of one of the threatened boys are upset with the school -- saying they may have tried to sweep the situation under the rug.

The two students were removed from school Tuesday, May 6, but returned to school the next day. It wasn't until parents complained that Wednesday the two were suspended.

Click the video for more reaction. Here is the unedited statement from USD 337 Superintendent John Rundle:

Two Royal Valley Middle School students were suspended from school on Wednesday last week, and a Kansas School Safety and Security Act report was made to county law enforcement.

The district has investigated the matter and taken appropriate and necessary actions to ensure the continued safety of all Royal Valley school students.

Kansas law allows students to be short term suspended for up to 10 days and expelled for up to 186 days. School district policies and state laws have been complied with to ensure the safety of all students in our schools.
