Brainstorm Development is hoping to have commercial zoning assigned to its 32 acres near 53rd and Wanamaker. The proposed development is causing controversy with many who live near the area. Residents say they want to know what would go in there and some say that it is too large.

Meanwhile, Gene Jani, property owner and developer says his vision for the corner is a neighborly community commercial area. He says he has several business that have expressed interest in the area including two banks, a possible gas station, and a hardware store.

The City Council will hear the report from the city's planning department as well as speakers from both sides of the issue. Final action for the proposal is expected from the Council next week.
