Three minors are injured in a car accident that happened just after 5PM Saturday when their car struck a utility pole.

The accident happened near I-470 and the turnpike, near 21st and Cedarwood.

Shawnee County Sheriffs are saying that alcohol and speed are contributing factors in the crash. Inside the vehicle, a 16,14, and 10-year-old.

It's unclear how serious their injuries are, although they are not life threatening. They were all taken to local hospitals.

A reconstruction team is on the scene continuing to investigate; No word on what disciplinary action will take place.

Sheriffs say alcohol and speed were contributing factors to the crash.

When will we ever learn? Alcohol isn't good for children or adults. Stay home if you want to drink. Don't drive.
