The head of the Kansas National Guard returns from Louisiana describing the damage done by Hurricane Katrina as an "eerie sight.''

Major General Tod Bunting traveled to the Gulf Coast to visit Kansas Guard soldiers dispatched there for relief and recovery.

Bunting says Kansas will rotate its Guard soldiers through Louisiana in 30-day cycles for the coming months.

Among the 230 soldiers already sent to the Gulf Coast are two assigned to help with the Expeditionary Medical Support System. The mobile hospital was flown over the weekend from Forbes Field to Mississippi in giant C-17 cargo planes.

The 190th Air Refueling Wing maintains the mobile hospital, which includes a full pharmacy and radiology equipment. It was set up outside a flooded K-Mart after crews cleared trees and other debris.
