Governor Kathleen Sebelius asked flags to be lowered until sunset of September 12th.

The governor also said the victims need support, generosity, and prayers.

Sebelius also wrote a letter to president Bush, asking for a Presidential Emergency declaration to help provide assistance for evacuees who are coming to kansas and looking for help.
