About 1,500 evacuees of Hurricane Katrina are expected to arrive in Topeka, sometime mid-week. On Monday, several county agencies met and planned on how they would handle the victims.

This is the second in two days of meetings on how to prepare. Sunday they set up a service center at Ag Hall at the Kansas Expocentre, which would house the Red Cross, SRS, and several other service agencies.

Right now, there are about 750 evacuees in ten shelters that have been set up statewide.
