A | A | A

On your way to work Friday, you may have noticed gas prices are up again.

The state average rose three cents overnight, up to $3.35 a gallon for regular.

We found prices as high as $3.49 cents in Topeka today.

A year ago the average was a whopping $.57 lower, $2.78 a gallon.

Gas prices are high because crude oil prices are up.

Spring and summer months also see a rise in prices.

Demand is up at this time and it costs more to make "summer-grade" gasoline.

Bush's Iraq War was begun to gain control over the oil. I understand 3 main USA co's have taken over. Why is oil so high? Greed, profit-for the rich. We should be using the oil we get locally AND tax those companies just as WE are taxed at the pump.

George Bush

It isn't the presidents fault. He no more has control over the price of fuel than he has over the earthquakes and hurricanes he is accused of creating. The reason gasoline is so expensive, is because we refuse to build refineries and continue to purchase oil from terrorist nations. Oil isn't the issue, it is supply and demand, we simply do not have enough in storage to meet the demands. We need to build more refineries, and stop exporting our own national resources, we need to use our own oil. We have enough oil to last for centuries yet we refuse to use it and continue to depend on and support the middle east.

George Bush is the reason. Big oil man. Look at the profits the oil companies made this year. Something needs to be done quick or big trouble is upon us. The whole thing is stupid!

If you remember right when lil george the oil man bush went into office the price of gas was 1.35, look at it now. Its ironic the big five oil company's and the five mob family's in the godfather movies. Does that make george bush jr the godfather or the oil company's puppet.Isn't price fixing as a combined group the same as racketeering Their record profits isn't coming from saving their pennies. Perhaps when the lil godfather is out of office it will be dealt with. Maybe they need regulated again since they can't behave themselfs

Do the oil companies really think we're THAT STUPID? What the he** do they mean by "Summer Grade"? Come on people, gas is gas. The only difference in it between the seasons, is we need to add anti freeze to it in the winter time because of all the water they use to dilute it. Summer Grade, gimme a freakin' break!
