On your way to work Friday, you may have noticed gas prices are up again.
The state average rose three cents overnight, up to $3.35 a gallon for regular.
We found prices as high as $3.49 cents in Topeka today.
A year ago the average was a whopping $.57 lower, $2.78 a gallon.
Gas prices are high because crude oil prices are up.
Spring and summer months also see a rise in prices.
Demand is up at this time and it costs more to make "summer-grade" gasoline.

Bush's Iraq War was begun to gain control over the oil. I understand 3 main USA co's have taken over. Why is oil so high? Greed, profit-for the rich. We should be using the oil we get locally AND tax those companies just as WE are taxed at the pump.

It isn't the presidents fault. He no more has control over the price of fuel than he has over the earthquakes and hurricanes he is accused of creating. The reason gasoline is so expensive, is because we refuse to build refineries and continue to purchase oil from terrorist nations. Oil isn't the issue, it is supply and demand, we simply do not have enough in storage to meet the demands. We need to build more refineries, and stop exporting our own national resources, we need to use our own oil. We have enough oil to last for centuries yet we refuse to use it and continue to depend on and support the middle east.
