Emporia, Kan. (WIBW) - People are searching in America and overseas for a missing Emporia State University student.
Emilee Irsik went missing after taking a trip to Europe earlier this month. She left from Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport, stopped at Heathrow in London, before flying to Hamburg, Germany on October 20th.
The 20-year-old Wichita native did not return from fall break, which was October 18th and 19th.
She was suppose to return to the states on October 26th but she did not board her flight. She also has not rebooked her flight.
She may have visited Trier, Hanover, or Bielefeld Universities according to friends. She is studying for her bachelors of education in German.
"We want to make sure that Emilee is fine," said Lynn Hobson, associate vice-president of student life, who oversees Residential Life. "Our hopes and prayers are with Emilee's family and her friends as they deal with the uncertainties right now."
Friends have started a Facebook groups to help locate her.
German Authorities and the State Department have been notified about Emilee.
If you know where Emilee is, you are asked to call ESU Police and Safety at 620-341-5337. You can also contact the State Department at 202-647-4000 and ask to be transferred to the duty officer in Berlin.
