A state highway worker was killed on the job Monday in east-central Kansas.
The Kansas Department of Transportation identifies the man as
Richard Cunningham, 46, of Emporia.
K-DOT said Cunningham died in a crash involving a dump truck and
a semitrailer hauling rock on Kansas 130 near Neosho Rapids in Lyon
County.
A second K-DOT worker was flown to Stormont-Vail Regional Health
Center in Topeka for treatment of his injuries.
Cunningham worked for the department for 15 years.
He's the second K-DOT killed on the job this summer. In June, Marvin "Scott'' McDonald was killed at a work site on US 75 near Topeka.
