A new Kansas law that no longer requires ethanol gasoline pumps to be labeled is sparking a surge in orders for the fuel.
The industry predicts a five-fold rise in retail demand for the fuel since the law was changed this year. Proponents say the law was outdated, and that some consumers saw the pump labeling as warnings. The labels alerted consumers that fuel contained a 10 percent blend of ethanol.
