OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ Two attorneys from Olathe have been appointed as special prosecutors in a criminal misconduct case against former Attorney General Paul Morrison.
Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline said Tuesday that he had appointed Robert E. Arnold III and Timothy E. Keck to examine Morrison's conduct during an extramarital affair he had with a former subordinate. Arnold and Keck are partners in a law firm.
Linda Carter has accused Morrison of trying to use her to influence a federal lawsuit filed against Kline. She also has said Morrison tried to get information from her about Kline's activities.
Morrison resigned in December after acknowledging the affair. He has denied Carter's other allegations.
