The state will receive federal money to establish the Kansas Veterans' cemetery at Fort Riley.

Senator Pat Roberts announced today 2.3 million dollars will cover costs of the cemetery infrastructure.

The money includes administration and maintenance buildings, roads, utilities, landscaping and irrigation. A memorial walkway and committal service shelter.

The new cemetery will serve more than 30,000 veterans and their family members.

This is the second part of a grant that will cover 100 percent of the 90-acre cemetery costs.
