TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Police arrested two people early Thursday morning, saying they attempted to use an altered, stolen check at a Kwik Shop at 17th & Topeka.
Officers were able to identify a vehicle involved and obtain suspect descriptions from Kwik Shop employees. They found the vehicle at 712 SE Ridgeview and saw one of the suspects go inside the home. Police say one suspect came out and was arrested as the homeowners were attempting to leave.
A second suspect was arrested by the Topeka Police Response Team, which located him hiding inside the home. Detectives conducted interviews and both suspects were taken to Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
