The judge overseeing the BTK serial killer case is angry about media coverage of the story since Dennis Rader's arrest, but he stopped short of issuing a gag order.
District Judge Gregory Waller's displeasure with reporters led
Wichita and Park City officials to issue memos warning all employees they could be jailed and fined if they discuss the case.
Waller told the Associated Press today that Rader should be tried in court, not in the media. He likened media coverage of the killings to a "bunch of mad dogs after a piece of meat.''
Since Rader was charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder,
media have reported an alleged confession, DNA evidence and a computer disk that led police to Rader's church.
