Dean Visit

By  |

Howard Dean knows Kansas is one of the most Republican states in the union. But that's not stopping him from talking at Washburn University tonight, and in Lawrence tomorrow. Dean is the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He says he'll be taking the Democratic message to all 50 states -- something he says is necessary if his party is to reclaim the White House in 2008. Kansas Republicans say Dean's appearance will only hurt Governor Sebelius' chances of being re-elected next year. State GOP chairman Tim Shallenberger says Dean is too liberal for Kansas, and that label will rub off on the governor. Dean speaks at 8 tonight at Washburn in Topeka. His appearance at 5 pm tomorrow at Liberty Hall in Lawrence is sold out.
