Freezing Rain and Icy Conditions in Central Kansas, Cold Rain in Eastern Kansas

A powerful arctic cold front surged across Kansas on Tuesday producing severe storms with hail up to the size of quarters, or larger in some instances. A cold, arctic, airmass quickly moved into the state behind this cold front dropping temperatures into the 20s and 30s across Central and Easter Kansas. Warm, moist air continues to flow over the top of the cold, arctic air, producing rain showers across much of Eastern Kansas on Wednesday.

This Afternoon - Scattered rain showers, especially along and East of The Kansas Turnpike and HWY 75. Temperatures holding steady in the 30s. Winds NW 10-25mph.

Tonight - Cloudy and Cold. Lows 27-31. Winds NW 10-25mph.

Thursday - Mostly cloudy. Cool and breezy. Highs 43-47. Winds NW 15-30mph.

Friday - Mostly Sunny. A bit warmer. Highs 48-52.
