VINTON, Iowa (AP) It's a well-known fact that Chelsea Clinton isn't talking to reporters while campaigning for her mother, and that includes nine-year-olds.

Sydney Rieckhoff, an Iowa fourth grader and ``kid reporter'' for Scholastic News, approached the 27-year-old former first daughter after a campaign event yesterday in Vinton, Iowa, and asked if she thought her dad would be a good ``first man'' in the White House.

Chelsea told the pint-size journalist, sorry, but she doesn't ``talk to the press,'' and that includes even cute kids.

Reporters covering the campaign have been put on notice that the young Clinton is not available to speak to them. An aide follows her as she works the crowd, and shushes any reporter who might approach and try to ask a question.

Sydney was a bit crestfallen, but the snub apparently won't hurt the campaign. The girl's mother has already decided to cast her caucus vote for Hillary Clinton.

If a child is going to stump for a champagne, than what she says must be questioned no matter who she is. Incase you didn't know this childs mom is a clinton supporter. So it wasn't under handed. But let's get real, she's 27 years old and should be able to be called on what she says on any given speech if she puts herself in that Position! No matter who you are! If you inter politics------handling reporters is part of that Job.I'm sure mom and dad is paying for her to do it, if not the places she appears-------therefore, she must live up to every one alse who does that very job she does. and who gives speech's for a presidential canidate and gets away with not answering how honest and truethful that speech truely is? This is dishonest for chelsey to do this and dishonest for the Clintons to put her inthis position. but its also about how transparent this family is about thier political life, and calls upon how honest they truely are with the American people.

I think the press is making too much of this. Since "it's well known" that Chelsea doesn't talk to reporters, then the child should not have been allowed to ask, or should have been warned that Chelsea would not speak to her. Using a child to get to someone who doesn't speak to reporters is underhanded at best. At worst, it's... well... USING a child. To the child's detriment. Shame on them.
