Avondale East Elementary students kindergarten through fifth grade are helping the city design a new playground. The city wants the students' input in building the new $135,000 project. The new city funded playground will be built in the Hiland Crest Park near 33rd and Irvingham.
Fifth Grader Paul Griffin suggested, "Maybe a helicopter where you could have a TV on the outside that makes it looks like a real helicopter."
Students sketched out their ideas and gave them to the city. City planners expect the project to be completed during three days at the end of March.
