A newspaper is reporting that Attorney General Paul Morrison made hundreds of phone calls this year to a woman with whom he was having an affair.
The Topeka Capital-Journal, citing phone records, said that from
July 11 through Aug. 10 alone, Morrison spent an average of more
than two hours a day on the phone with Linda Carter.
Morrison acknowledged having an affair with Carter, who has said
it lasted two years, starting in September 2005. He denies her
allegations of professional misconduct but plans to resign Jan. 31.
In a story published Friday, the Capital-Journal said it
obtained the documents through open records requests. They showed
Morrison placed at least 480 calls to Carter, about a third of them
during business hours.
