A driver spun out on I-70 Thursday night, damaging an overhead sign to the point the highway had to be shut down.
It happened just after 9:30 pm on westbound I-70 near California Avenue. A vehicle went out of control, knocking the sign loose from its fixture.
I-70 westbound remained shut down as of 11 pm Thursday, while the Kansas Department of Transportation brought in a crane to remove the sign. The road will not reopen until the sign is removed.
The driver of the vehicle was injured, but there was no information available on the severity of the injuries. Slippery conditions might have contributed to the accident.

heaven forbid we consider for a second that this truly was an ACCIDENT. the person could have been doing everything right, but sometimes slick is simply just slick and accidents happen...maybe there was more to it than that, but everyone is always so quick to judge and look at it in a negative way. thank goodness the person was apparently ok.
