Don't be surprised if you see a member of Congress asking for money in Topeka Friday.
That will be Senator Sam Brownback, and the money isn't for him. The Republican will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army at the Topeka West Ridge Mall.
Brownback also plans to deliver meals to home-bound Topeka residents as part of a day of volunteering in his home community.
The senator's staff also will be taking part in the volunteer efforts throughout Topeka.
Brownback says it's important during the Christmas season to remember those who are in need, and for Kansans to be willing to help others.
