One Teen Dies in Crash North of Hanover
A 13 year-old girl dies in accident while riding with her brother in Washington County. Many weekend events at Hanover High School canceled.

A Hanover teen, riding with her brother, was fatally injured in an automobile accident Friday morning.

Just after 8 a.m., Kellan Tegtmeier, 17, was heading north on Highway 148, about three miles north of town, when his mid-nineties Chevy truck with her sister 13 year-old Kaleigha.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol reports, Tegtmeier's truck veered off the road and he lost control. The truck then hit an embankment.

Emergency crews rushed the younger Tegtmeier to Hanover Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she died a few hours later.

In response to the tragedy, Hanover High School has rescheduled Friday night's home football game at against Marais de Cygne for Saturday at 6 p.m.

The volleyball and cross-country teams have pulled out of tournaments in Marysville and Riley County, respectively.

every june 20 or so that weekend there is a vollyball turnement in our cousins honor.....please come we love and miss u kallie and cant wait to se u again 1 day

Kallie was a great girl. It wasnt a mistake of kellan's he couldn't help it. What would you do if there were deer RUNNING in the middle of the road. We miss her lots and know she is watching over us as a guardian angel. We wish she was here. I love you kallie!!!!!!! By the way Im her cousin.

Kallie was my cousin,no more than my cousin but,my best friend! I keep her in my thoughts all the time!!! I wish I could have saw her before the accident.It was a really hard time for my family and it still is!She always played with me even if she didn't like the game.She would also always make me laugh. I just can't let go of her!!!
