Updated: 07/05/2008 - Topeka police arrested 36 year old Todd Gerhardt late Friday night on attempted second degree murder. He was very upset with his two neighbors for popping fireworks, so he stepped outside, pulled out a gun and started shooting at them.
Updated: 07/04/2008 - A person believed to be a federal fugitive ran into a home in the 200 block of SE 35th Terrace, Topeka, and held police at bay. Nine made it out of the house. Negotiators later convinced 29-year-old Quinton Lawton to come out of the house shortly before midnight. Lawton was booked into the Department of Corrections on a federal narcotics warrant.
