TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two of the nine people accused in a string of holdups from last summer, one of which claimed a life, were in court Thursday.
Frednetta Winston had a date set for a preliminary hearing. It will begin June 19th and continue the 21st. Jimmy Netherland also was in court. He waived formal arraignment, pleaded not guilty to his charges and now has a jury trial set for September 24th.
They and seven others face various burglary charge, as well as a murder charge for last July's shooting death of Natalie Gibson during a holdup in her driveway.
Michael Wilkins has a May 29th trial, but that could change based on a motions hearing Friday.
Four other trial dates are set. Trials for Daquan Wilkins and Kevin Wilkins are set to begin May 21st, while Ancio Stovall heads to court June 25th and Ronald wakes has a trial set for July 23rd.
Two other men accused in the case are said to be cooperating with authorities. Proceedings for Duane Richey and Bayate Covington are continued until their testimony in the other cases is complete.
