RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police are investigating two sexual assaults after the victims came forward with allegations. A third case was also filed this week involving a young girl.
On January 5, 2013, an 18-year-old Kansas State University student reported that she was a victim of rape and child molestation stemming from incidents that occurred in Riley County several years ago when she was underage.
The alleged suspect is a family member. According to the victim, the last incident happened five years ago.
On January 7, 2013, a 21-year-old woman reported that she was raped on December 2, 2012 in Manhattan.
Officials say the suspect and victim know each other.
On January 8, 2013, a detective with the Riley County Police Department filed a rape report involving a 14-year-old girl. The alleged sexual assault occurred in Riley County in early 2012 and according to police, the reported suspect is a family member.
The cases remain under investigation. Because of the nature of the crimes, no other details were released.
