(WIBW) - One of two people arrested in Nebraska following a shootout with police learned her fate Monday.

Jamie Engstrom was sentenced to a maximum five years in prison for felony child abuse. She pleaded guilty to the charge in April.

A 14-year old girl was with Engstrom and her husband, Michael, when police say they fled the state following the February 13th shooting death of Ricky Mitchell at an apartment near SW 12th and Topeka Boulevard.

Michael Engstrom has pleaded not guilty to 19 felony charges in Nebraska, including five counts of attempted murder. His trial is scheduled to begin September 9th.

Both Jamie and Michael Engstrom also face charges of first degree felony murder and aggravated robbery in Shawnee County, Kansas.
