Wichita Man Shot On Thanksgiving 2005 Recovering

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ The family of a Wichita high school senior
says he is a Thanksgiving miracle.

After graduating from Northeast Magnet High School next year,
Jay Jay Warner plans to pursue a college degree in psychology.

That didn't seem possible in 2005, when Jay Jay was shot in the
neck outside his home on the evening before Thanksgiving in a
drive-by shooting.

Verlene Warner says 18-year-old Jay Jay is her ``miracle
senior.'' He has limited use of his of his right hand and some
pain, but has moved on from the shooting.

The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/rupMED) that Jay Jay
will attend Butler Community College and then transfer to Kansas
State University.

Police say the shooter was aiming at a vehicle in front of the
Warners' house and hit Jay Jay instead.
