WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- An apparent metal theft has cost a Wichita woman her wheelchair ramp.

The incident happened sometime Friday at an apartment complex in the 400 block of West Pawnee. Someone stole an aluminum wheelchair ramp that leads to one of the apartments.

The ramp belongs to a 62-year-old woman who has multiple sclerosis. She said she is irritated by the theft. Her older sister, who serves as her caretaker, spent close to $500 to replace the ramp.

Wichita police believe the ramp was stolen so the thieves could sell the metal. Officers have no suspects.
