Welfare Check Leads To Homicide Investigation In Riley County

On Sunday, September 8, 2013 at approximately 2:30 PM, Officers with the Riley County Police Department were dispatched to the residence of John Burroughs, 68, located at 2500 Farm Bureau Road Lot #277; to conduct a welfare check.

At the residence, officers discovered the deceased body of John Burroughs.

Due to evidence at the scene this death has been ruled a homicide. The investigation of this incident is ongoing.

The Riley County Police Department asks those with information pertaining to the murder of John Burroughs to please contact RCPD (785-537-2112) or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
