(WIBW) - Two people are headed to prison for running an adoption scam during which one pretended to be pregnant.
Roxanne Jones and Taj Isaiah of Kansas City were sentenced Tuesday. Prosecutors say Jones pretended to be pregnant with twins so she could offer them for adoption in exchange for money and gifts.
Jones admitted to lying to 14 different couples from across the country. She'll serve 7 years in prison. Isaiah will serve 2 years.
