TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The trial for a teen charged with sexually assaulting a five-year old is delayed four months.
19-year old Al'Ryon Perkins was 17 in November 2010, when police say he broke into a southeast Topeka home, stole a cash box, and carried a five-year-old girl out to the yard and raped her.
He's charged with rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, aggravated burglary and theft.
His trial was to start Monday. Court records show it had been delayed twice already. It's now slated to begin January 22nd. The court expects it will take five to six days.
