DICKINSON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW)-- A routine traffic stop lead to a manhunt by local and state authorities late Sunday night, and the Kansas Highway Patrol wouldn't say Monday morning whether or not the suspect was in custody.
The Kansas Highway Patrol told 13 News that Dickinson County authorities attempted to pull a vehicle over on a routine traffic stop when the vehicle began to flee around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
Dickinson County authorities requested ground and air support from KHP as they pursued to suspect.
The chase ended when the suspect vehicle came to a stop on westbound I-70 near Shipton Road. Authorities told 13 News that a male suspect ran into a nearby field.
KHP set up a perimeter and all involved law enforcement agencies searched the area.
KHP cleared the area by 12:30 a.m. but did not confirm Monday morning whether or not the suspect was in custody.
